The Airplane Incident

I'm sure you heard about the air marshal incident at Miami-Dade Airport this afternoon. I just think it sucks that it turned out to be unnecessary for them to kill the suspect. I'm not saying they should have opened fire or not; I don't know all the circumstances. But...
1) How could he have gotten a bomb onto the plane in a carry-on? Doesn't the TSA screen for all that stuff (x-rays, dogs, bag checks, etc)?
2) His wife told the air marshals that he had a mental disorder and hadn't taken his medication that day.
3) It turns out that the guy was a missionary (in Peru).

4) They also blew up two other bags that the bomb-sniffing dogs deemed "suspicious." Sucks to be those two people. Does the TSA reimburse them or are they SOL?

Ya that is sad. What's the old saying, "It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt."

Seems like most of the news is about people on planes are people with some disorder. It's a shame. I feel bad for his family.
