Successes

1. I ran into a professor from my last class yesterday. He said to me, "Did you know you got an A+ in the course?" I didn't know that, because they don't send out grade reports until the fall. Awesome.

2. After troubleshooting a work problem all last week, I finally have red cells that show up on the machine. Yay!

So, it seems that Paris is out for September. We were trying to schedule flights so that we could fly into Paris and stay for a night and a day and then take the train to Amsterdam and leave out of there after the conference. Except that the flight schedules were weird, and it was too expensive. So we're going to be stopping over in Reykjavik, Iceland instead. Iceland should be interesting...anyone know what the weather's like there in mid-September? And we'll have a day or two to see Amsterdam as well...I'm most interested in the Van Gogh museum.

According to weather.com, the temp in Iceland in Sept averages a range of 49-41F. Nice weather, might be a little wet though (also according to weather.com). Have fun!

Bah, too cold. I thought Greenland was supposed to have all the ice!

At least Amsterdam will be a little warmer (66H/49L).

i was just talking with some friends a couple days ago about cheap airfare to iceland in the fall/winter. they supposedly have tons of hot springs there that might help keep you warm!

Well, the interesting thing to me is that it's really not that much colder than it is here in the winter. The average low in Reykjavik in January is 27; here it's 24. The difference is that it hardly ever gets above 55 there :-)
