Really not amused
In fact, a little disgusted. Because America has lost, the troops have lost, and Bushco wins. I am referring to, of course, the kow-tow spending bill that authorized $90B with absolutely no strings attached - no timetables, no requirements to adhere to standards of troop training, readiness and rest. Oh, but there are required benchmarks that the Iraqi government has to meet. Except that Bush can keep the spending going even if the "required" benchmarks aren't met. So, to sum up, we've funded meddling in a civil war for another 4 months with billions of dollars and who knows how many more lives, and allowed the Iraqis to continue to dictate our military policy and spending (because heaven forbid that CONGRESS tries to dictate it). And the Iraqi government, instead of expressing their gratitude and continued pledge to strive to stabilize their country, thumbs their noses at us and gives themselves a two-month vacation. The entire thing makes me sick.
