Brain development??

I just saw a commercial for Juicy Juice with DHA for brain development. Color me skeptical. I mean, we've somehow managed to produce smart and competent people for, oh I don't know, THOUSANDS of YEARS without this drink? And yet all the helicopter parents will freak out and think that if everyone else's kids are drinking it and theirs isn't, they'll be the only parents without a Harvard graduate. Ugh.

Really ... are we a brighter society? The Egyptians built pyramids without "modern technology" and they are still standing. World Trade Center, a marvel of durability, took less to fell than the 747 it was designed for. Are we a more advanced society if we believe the marketing hype?

Haha, color me skeptical. I need to introduce that into my skepticism repertoire.

I'm pretty sure if you flew a 747 into one of the pyramids of Giza, there wouldn't be much left of that either.

Knot...I don't see where you're disagreeing with me? Both the pyramids and the WTC were built within my described "thousands of years" period that we did NOT have Juicy Juice with DHA. We're not a more advanced society for believing marketing hype...that was my point. Einstein, Mozart, Thoreau, Shakespeare, Watson...all great thinkers without drinking Juicy Juice.

I think we agree. I was being more rhetorical I guess. Most people can't add without a calculator. I think we are actually regressing as a society. People can't think for themselves which only a few years ago, they could, like within the past 40 years.

Also, Juicy Juice with DHA costs twice per ounce as much as regular Juicy Juice (I checked at the grocery store the other day).
